Welcome to the Village Pump Folk Festival

Hi All,

At last, time to sit down at the trusty computer and review the 2015 Village Pump Folk Festival.

What a great week-end of top quality music, food and drink. We had some great new traders and food vendors this year and our hosts at White Horse Country Park had over 15 guest beers on tap including PHIL BEER, a light hoppy brew just like the other Phil Beer. Whilst mentioning Phil we must mention the smashing show that he, Steve and Miranda did on the Saturday night. The show was recorded for a live CD and all of us SHOW OF HANDS fans duly ordered our copy and will have our names included in the list of backing singers. By the way if you missed this rather special performance you will be able to obtain a copy of the CD via this web-site, just keep an eye on the web-site over the next few weeks for more information.

The new all seated White Horse Stage was a great success. Non-stop performers all week-end with the highlights surely being new friend of The Pump, BARBARA DICKSON WITH NICK HOLLAND (it was a privilege to be there) CARDBOARD FOX and our old friends MARTIN CARTHY & DAVE SWARBRICK.

Two superstars enjoying each-others company and the intimacy that this great space offered. Three standing ovations at the end of their set said it all.

The all standing Village Pump Stage was something special. Put some of the folk/acoustic/blues top bands on a real stage with top quality sound (thanks to Chis Puxley & team) and top quality lights (Gary Churchill and the Imax team) and an audience well and truly ‘up for it’ and the result was magical! All of the artists played out of their skins and it was definitely PARTY TIME AT THE PUMP.

Apparently it rained over the week-end (which did impact on our walk-up sales) but thanks to our policy of covered performance areas, great drainage of the site, great festival team and the pumpers who will not be put off by anything we had a truly top quality festival on our fourth visit to the Westbury site.

Plans for 2016 will be appearing soon,
